Tallgrass Wheat

Okay...I stocked the beverage fridge in our basement last week. I always like to get a couple of non-traditional beverages to go along with the regular standbys. I have been hearing about the new Tallgrass Wheat beer that is brewed in Manhattan, KS and was very excited when I saw it at our local liquor store. We had a few people over on Friday night so I decided it was time to try it. It comes in a neat looking box and has a cool label. The first hurdle was finding a bottle opener as it is not a twist off. Then came time for the 'sniff test'. WOW!! After smelling it, I couldn't bring myself to take a sip. Then it became a game to 'name the smell'. We finally concluded that it smells like refried beans. No lie. If any of you happen to be in the neighborhood, stop by for a drink (or just a sniff). I think I need to head to Manhattan soon for a tour of the brewery. I've got to figure out what is in that stuff.
