Ground Zero

Pre 9/11 NYC Skyline with the Twin Towers
We took this at the statue of Liberty...
Construction of the memorial at Ground Zero...It was eerie watching the locals walk around, business as usual...
St. Paul's Church
Built between 1764-1766
George Washington worshiped there during the two years that New York served as the Nations capital.
This is directly across the street from the World Trade Center. It is a miracle that it survived 9/11. An ancient sycamore tree shielded the church from the brunt of the collapsing buildings. It served as a hub for fire fighters and volunteers during the aftermath of 9/11.
A tribute to firefighters...The 9/11 Memorial Preview Site: At this museum we learned about plans and progress of the Memorial.Cross found at Ground Zero...
Up Next: The Empire State Building
